First, God is indescribably amazing! For the Creator of all to allow us as insignificant humans to live and breathe is beyond understanding. He has never changed and will not, He has only revealed Himself in different ways throughout the biblical histories. The crux of the biblical message is that He is infinite and sovereign and in control of all things and deserves ALL honor and glory. He has higher standards and has endowed us with abilities and gifts; ultimately to be used to glorify Him. He is in the business of glorifying Himself and for that very reason He has established the institution of family. He has established marriage between a man and a woman and the relationship of the family to mirror His church and how we should function as individuals within each entity.
God has given us the perfect example in Christ of how we should love. God gave men the ability to serve, protect, and love his family. Taking it a step further, not only is it an ability we men possess but a special calling. God as our creator gave men the calling to reflect Him and His characteristics to our families. He is our Father who created all things and specially formed us to His image. As men we are founders of our families and God uniquely uses us to love our families through us. God is sorely disappointed with His creation and especially men whom he has been using as an important vehicle to further His kingdom. To put it frankly, men have failed at the single most important calling. We have allowed the influences of the world to distort our perception of what it is to be a man and a father.
This book was written by brothers Alex Krendrick and Stephen Kendrick. They lay the groundwork for some very real and meaningful change that needs to take place within the hearts of men. The book points out what a great responsibility we as men have been ordained. We have been given gifts (our wives and children) to teach and reflect what God truly intends for His creation. The first two chapters of The Resolution are very climatic and thus proceeds to set the urgencies for the resolution that the rest of the book contain. Chapter three shows the chains of sin that men have adopted through worldliness and lies that we have bought. This chapter is important to the fact that it should be eye-opening and we should be resolved to repentance.
The first of the two stories that begin the climatic start, metaphorically shows how men have taken their hands off the steering wheel of our families and allowed low standards to rule their ability to be godly ministers to their wives and children. The potency of the second story, should not be view as just a story. We witness, in this story, the pain that God endures when we squander our sphere of influence and either become lazy with our families or choose to teach and guide them toward unimportant frivolities. Our spheres of influences are very precious and generational sin or blessings will begin with us and our decisions.
Courage is one of the most lacking characteristic in men today. The Resolution points out our flawed worldly views and in turn gives us steps to get on a godly path to combat worldliness in our lives and families. The 12 Resolutions introduced within the book are at the very core of being a man, a husband, a father, and a faithful servant to God. It will take great courage to become the men God has called us to be, but we already have the ability we have to be strengthened through God and the willingness to be used for His glory.
The Authors have conveyed a very real sense of urgency for men to be real and reclaim their families and to be bent on bring honor and glory to God. Read this book and be encouraged to renew what has been lacking in our society, real and true MEN.

Wow! What do I say... I should have no problem submitting to this man. I love you hun, and I'm proud of you. You are a great husband and father.
